Water damage is like a comic-book horror. It’s amazing and horrifying what water can do. For example:

• Wood swell
• Cotton shrink

Is that fair?

A summary of what water damage might look like:

• Swell wood
• Delaminate plywood
• Widen cracks in brick, stone, grout
• Shrink wool, cotton, other fabrics
• Shred some fabrics, also drywall, insulation, subflooring, and insulation
• Bubble or blister paint
• Erode or stain stone or marble
• Bring out the existing odors in a house (only the bad ones for some reason)
